New CAP Debt Help Centre launches in Fleet

27th March 2026

We’re pleased to share positive news for our local community with the launch of a new CAP Debt Help Centre at Fleet Baptist Church.

Led by Trev Cook, the centre is part of Christians Against Poverty (CAP), a UK charity dedicated to tackling poverty through free debt advice and community-based support.

As the cost-of-living crisis continues to affect many households, this new local service offers vital, practical help for those struggling financially. CAP’s vision is to see transformed lives, thriving communities, and an end to UK poverty.

How CAP can help you

CAP provides a range of free services designed to support people on their journey out of debt and towards long-term financial wellbeing:

  • Debt Relief: Free, professional face-to-face support, including home visits and FCA-authorised debt counselling. CAP works directly with creditors and helps create realistic, manageable budgets.
  • Money Coaching: Practical education to build lifelong financial skills and confidence.
  • Life Skills & Community Support: Group sessions covering budgeting, saving, wellbeing, and making money go further, alongside one-to-one mentoring and support.

Working together to support our community

The new centre is keen to work alongside local organisations, including foodbanks, to ensure people in need can access the right support at the right time. Trev is inviting local partners to connect and explore how best to refer and support individuals within the community.
