We are pleased to share information about Food Labs, a free programme designed to help professionals and organisations run fun, inclusive food exploration sessions for children and families.
Food Labs uses curiosity, sensory exploration, and hands-on “food scientist” activities to help children develop confidence around food in a safe, supportive, and pressure-free environment.
The approach is designed to encourage positive experiences with food and can be adapted to suit different ages, needs, and settings.
What is a Discover Food Labs Session?
A free 30-minute Discover Food Labs session will introduce participants to the programme and provide practical ideas for delivering engaging food-based activities.
During the session, participants will:
- Explore Food Labs resources and session structures
- Learn how to create inclusive, low-pressure food experiences
- Discover how sessions can be adapted for different groups and settings
- Have opportunities to ask questions and share ideas
- Leave with the confidence to start running Food Labs sessions
No specialist food or nutrition knowledge is required – just an interest in helping children build confidence, curiosity, and positive relationships with food.
