This week marks Refugee Week, a national celebration of the strength, resilience, and contributions of refugees and people seeking safety.
At Hart Foodbank, we believe that everyone deserves to be treated with compassion, dignity, and respect. We are proud to support people from all backgrounds who have been referred to us, providing practical help during difficult times.
Many people who access foodbanks are facing significant challenges, whether caused by financial hardship, illness, relationship breakdown, housing difficulties, or other life-changing circumstances. For refugees and people seeking sanctuary, these challenges can often be compounded by the experience of leaving behind homes, communities, and support networks.
Our volunteers work hard to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Alongside emergency food and essential items, we offer a friendly face, a listening ear, and help people connect with wider support services when needed.
Refugee Week provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of community, kindness, and understanding. In a world that can sometimes feel divided, it reminds us of the power of coming together and supporting one another.
At Hart Foodbank, we believe that no one should face hunger or hardship alone. We are committed to helping everyone who comes through our doors, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Together, we can continue building a community where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and valued. 💚
