Share your garden harvest and help local families

9th July 2026

As gardens across our community become full of homegrown fruit, we’re inviting local residents to share the bounty and help support people facing food insecurity.

If your apple tree is laden with fruit, your plum tree has produced more than you can use, or you have an abundance of pears, blackberries or other homegrown produce, we’d love to hear from you.

Fresh fruit is always a welcome addition to the support we provide. Donations of good-quality, freshly picked fruit can help add variety and nutrition to the food available for local people and families.

Every year, countless kilograms of perfectly good fruit go to waste simply because there’s too much to use at home. By donating your surplus harvest, you can help ensure it is enjoyed by others rather than ending up on the ground or in the compost.

If you’re considering donating produce, please make sure it is fresh, clean, and in good condition. We recommend contacting our community pantry before bringing your donation so we can arrange the best time for delivery and ensure we can distribute it as quickly as possible.

Whether it’s a bag of apples, a basket of plums or a punnet of freshly picked blackberries, every donation helps.

Together, we can reduce food waste, support our local community and make the most of this year’s harvest.

Thank you for helping us turn surplus fruit into something truly valuable.
