Anyone can find themselves facing difficult circumstances. Whether it’s due to rising living costs, an unexpected bill, illness, a change in employment, or another crisis, needing a little extra support can happen to any of us.
At Hart Foodbank, we’re here to help local people when they need it most.
How to access support
Getting help is straightforward. We work closely with a wide range of local partner organisations, including Citizens Advice, schools, churches, housing teams, healthcare professionals and other support services. These organisations can assess your circumstances and, where appropriate, provide a foodbank voucher.
If you haven’t been able to obtain a voucher, please don’t worry. We will provide support on your first visit and can help connect you with a suitable referral agency for any ongoing assistance.
More than a food parcel
When you visit one of our foodbank centres, you’ll receive more than emergency food.
Our friendly volunteers will welcome you, listen without judgement and prepare a food parcel tailored to the size and needs of your household. We can also take dietary requirements into account wherever possible. Each parcel contains at least three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced food and essential toiletries.
Support beyond food
We understand that food insecurity is often just one part of a wider situation. That’s why our Community Connector Team is available to offer practical guidance and help you access additional support, including advice on finances, benefits, housing, employment and wellbeing. Our aim is not only to provide immediate relief but also to help people move towards longer-term stability.
You’re not alone
Asking for help isn’t always easy, but no one in our community should have to face hunger alone.
If you’re struggling to afford food or other essentials, please get in touch. Our team is here to listen, support you and help you access the assistance you need.
