Hook Guides support Hart Foodbank this summer

We would like to say a huge thank you to the fantastic Guides from Hook, who recently gave up their time to help prepare food donation bags at Tesco Hook ahead of the busy summer holiday period.

The Guides worked alongside Tesco colleague Linda, carefully assembling and labelling donation bags that shoppers can easily pick up, purchase and place in the in-store foodbank collection point. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and willingness to help will make it even easier for customers to support local families over the school holidays.

Summer can be one of the most challenging times of the year for many households. With children at home during the holidays and the cost of food continuing to put pressure on family budgets, demand for foodbank support often increases. Every donation made through supermarket collection points helps ensure we can continue providing emergency food and essential support to local people when they need it most.

Girlguiding is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to girls and young women, helping members build confidence, develop life skills and make a positive difference in their communities through fun, friendship and volunteering. Across Hampshire North, around 4,000 girls and young women take part in activities that encourage them to be active citizens and support local causes.

The kindness shown by the Hook Guides is a wonderful example of young people making a real difference in their community. Their efforts will help encourage many more donations and ensure local families receive the support they need this summer.
