Taking the first step to ask for help isn’t always easy, but at Hart Foodbank you’ll always receive a warm welcome and a listening ear.
We understand that anyone can experience difficult times. Whether you’re facing an unexpected bill, a change in circumstances, illness or simply finding it hard to make ends meet, our volunteers are here to support you with dignity, compassion and without judgement.
When you arrive at one of our foodbank centres, a member of our friendly volunteer team will greet you and take the time to understand your situation. We’ll ask if you have any dietary requirements or allergies so that we can tailor your food parcel to meet your household’s needs wherever possible. Food parcels contain at least three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced food, along with toiletries and other essential items when available.
Our support goes beyond providing food. We know that financial hardship can happen for many different reasons, which is why our Community Connector Team can help you access additional advice and support. Whether you need help with benefits, debt, housing, employment or other challenges, we’ll do our best to connect you with organisations that can help you move forward.
We mainly operate through a referral voucher system, working with local organisations such as schools, churches, housing teams, support workers and advice services. If you don’t already have a voucher, please don’t let that stop you from getting in touch. We can explain the process, help you access the right support and, if needed, provide assistance on your first visit while helping you arrange ongoing support.
No one should have to face hunger alone. If you’re struggling, please remember that asking for help is a positive step, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
