🧵 Stitching together support for Hart Foodbank

A local sewing teacher and her group have been putting their skills to good use, creating reusable fabric shopping bags for Hart Foodbank. 💚

After seeing an appeal from the Foodbank, Lareen decided to organise a charity sewing event at her sewing studio, bringing together a group of people who wanted to do something practical to support their local community.

And what a success it was!

During the charity sewing session, a full class of enthusiastic volunteers came together and made 13 reusable bags, with even more bags being taken home by participants to finish.

The morning was filled with creativity, community spirit and plenty of sewing – with some delicious homemade cupcakes providing a welcome boost along the way! 🧁

The bags will provide a practical way for people to carry their Foodbank items, while also helping to reduce the use of disposable bags.  The more reusable bags in circulation, the better!

It’s a wonderful example of how local people can use their skills and creativity to make a difference.
