Volunteering makes a real difference at Hart Foodbank

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at Hart Foodbank. From sorting donations and packing food parcels to welcoming visitors and helping at community events, it is the time, kindness, and dedication of local people that allows us to support individuals and families across the Hart district.

Volunteering is not only about providing practical help – it is also about offering compassion, understanding, and a friendly face during difficult times. For many people who come to the foodbank, that human connection can be just as important as the food itself.

Across our foodbank, volunteers contribute in many different ways. Some help behind the scenes in the warehouse, others support distribution sessions, and many assist with fundraising, administration or raising awareness in the community. Whatever role they take on, each volunteer plays an important part in helping us provide emergency food and support to local people facing hardship.

Volunteering can also be hugely rewarding. Many volunteers tell us they enjoy meeting new people, learning new skills and being part of a supportive team while making a positive difference in their community.

We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to meet us at the Volunteer Fair on Saturday at the Hart Shopping Centre in Fleet. It was wonderful to speak with so many people interested in learning more about what we do and how they might get involved. The support and enthusiasm from the local community was incredibly encouraging.
