🌱 Got a garden full of produce? Share your harvest!

9th August 2026

Do you have more fruit and vegetables growing in your garden than you can eat? Instead of letting your home-grown produce go to waste, why not share your harvest with us and help local people and families facing financial hardship?

At this time of year, gardens and allotments can produce an amazing amount of fresh food. Courgettes seem to appear overnight, tomatoes ripen faster than we can eat them, and a bumper crop of apples, potatoes or runner beans can leave even the keenest gardener wondering what to do with it all!

Rather than letting your surplus go to waste, consider donating some of your harvest to Hart Foodbank.

🥕 What could you donate?

We’re particularly interested in suitable fresh produce such as:

🍎 Apples and other home-grown fruit
🥒 Courgettes
🍅 Tomatoes
🥔 Potatoes
🌱 Runner beans
🥕 Other suitable fresh vegetables

Even a small amount can make a difference. A few bags of surplus vegetables from your garden could become a welcome addition to food parcels and help provide people with fresh produce alongside the longer-life items we usually distribute.

💚 Share a little, help a lot

For many people using foodbanks, fresh fruit and vegetables can be difficult to afford when household budgets are under pressure. Home-grown produce gives local people the opportunity to enjoy fresh food while also helping to reduce food waste.

And there’s something particularly special about knowing that the vegetables you’ve grown in your own garden could end up helping someone else in your local community.

To arrange a donation to our Community Pantry only, please get in touch with us at: [email protected] or +44 7818 874499.
